{Simple Beauty} Natural Cleansing

May 29, 2016

I discovered this little soap bar recently whilst on the look out for a birthday gift for a friend of mine. We made the transition from shower gels and washes to soap a few months back and I’m so glad we did. Not only is a bar of soap cheaper and lasts longer but if you opt for a natural soap it’s kinder on your skin and on the environment – 2 things that have become more and more important to my family over the past year as we’ve embraced essential oils for healing properties and stripped away the toxins in our home.

This particular soap, Herbivore Blue Clay, is made with a rare clay found in the Siberian lakes that has clarifying and skin balancing qualities. It doesn’t dry my skin out but still cleanses it thoroughly and is gentle enough to use daily. I use it on my face and body in the shower or during a sink wash. It’s scented with lemon and lavender essential oils which are two of my favourites that both calm my mind and awaken my senses. I love how the combination is detoxifying but not harsh on my skin.

What I love most is that it’s made from all natural ingredients, mostly plant based and all organic. The essential oils used in this little bar are cold pressed which means the beneficial properties are preserved in the distillation process. I love stumbling upon natural beauty products that really deliver in every way.
