It’s January at last! I was relieved to wave goodbye to 2018 and welcome in the New Year. I love January, it’s one of my most creative months – I’m always full of ideas of projects and crafts that I want to commit to. The shorter days and colder temperatures lure me indoors and provide more time to think and dream. I have lots of things brewing this year that I’m excited to tell you more about in due course.
One of the spaces I want to nurture more this year is my blog so I’ll be sharing here, every Sunday, a collection of images from my week. I’ll be framing these as simple diptychs – pairs of images side by side. Each diptych will feature pictures I’ve taken that week, everyday moments of life, the sort I love most to document. I find capturing life in this way allows me to slow down and be more present to the little details. It helps me to notice everyday beauty, from the way the light falls on my unmade bed, to the familiar messes of family life, to the stillness of the year’s first breakfast and later, sunset. I hope you like my new series as much as I do. I’m working on some small design changes to my website so that these images will be given more space to breathe on the page, but until then you’ll have to bear with me. Here is week One; 31.12.18 – 06.01.19 the very best few days spent with my favourite people, welcoming in a New Year full of hope and promise.
Happy 2019 friends xo
