May, the month the hedgerows turned green, the Queen Anne’s Lace blossomed and the bumble bees returned. Ol and I escaped to Crete for a few days and the kids enjoyed the sunniest half term I can remember. The month we enjoyed the first of many barbecues to come and they finally got to dip their little toes in our paddling pool. Some days it was warm enough for them to run about the house in nothing but their birthday suits. As the temperatures rose, our garden grew lush and full. We planted cheerful pots of marigolds and lobelia, french lavender and garden herbs to brighten up our patio. The kids collected handfuls of daisies, rape flowers, buttercups and cows parsley on our walks, bringing them home and arranging them themselves on our kitchen table, and lollipops became a daily staple to cool off hot heads after a day playing.
Here’s my month in pictures.
I l.o.v.e what you have done with your garden! Its such a beautiful space.
