I just wanted to stop by and write a reminder to you (but mostly to me), to breathe deeply today. And I don’t mean the mindless breathing you do throughout the day to keep yourself alive. I mean really B R E A T H E. Today, (and in fact every day), I want you to spend a few moments to pay particular attention to your breath. Take long, slow, deep breaths in through your nose until your belly is full of air. Then slowly release with a deep exhale out through your mouth. This type of conscious breathing is an amazing tool in managing anxiety and promoting a sense of peace, calm and wellbeing.
Stop by that newly bloomed rose and pull it right up to your nose and take a deep inhale; take that long breath in as you push the pushchair along on your walk; take that moment when everything feels like it’s crashing down on you, to turn away, and fill your belly with air; look up to the heavens when you’re in the shower today and inhale S L O W L Y, D E E P L Y.
If I can only persuade 10 amazing, heart and belly filled breaths to fill your body today then I will be happy. We can do this!
