Dear Roo, Roo, Roo, Roo…
It’s hard to believe three years have passed since the day we met. That day was the most defining and transformative day of my life and has shaped me so much since. I can’t tell you how grateful I am that you were the baby who made me a mother. I couldn’t have asked for a lovelier, more gentle teacher.
My baby’s birthdays always allow me to indulge in looking back. Back through old photos, blog posts and journal entries in the written diaries I’ve been keeping for you and your sister ready to give you when you turn 18. I had to include the photos from your actual birth-day above along with your annual birthday portraits. They are just the most precious images and every time I look at them they fill my heart with pride and happiness.
We celebrated your birthday all weekend – on Saturday with a little dinosaur party with your friends and yesterday, on your actual birthday, just the 4 of us. You know what they say, 3 is a magic number! I’m so
excited for you – I have a really good feeling about this age and the
year you have ahead. I’ve seen such a huge change in you the last couple of months – You’ve made the leap from toddlerhood to boyhood, gone are the nappies and the cot and here is this big boy whose trousers are suddenly getting shorter by the day.
Happy birthday my darling son, I love you more than I’ll ever be able to explain in words. You’re so very special.
