We savoured the last week of summer holidays with a trip to Sussex. Slow, lazy days whiled away on the beach, exploring rockpools and building sandcastles was the perfect farewell to summer and we returned home ready to flip the page on our calendar. September is a significant month for us as we settle Raff into school and find our feet in a new rhythm.
The Summer break was lovely, I enjoyed the freedom and soaked up the last days of having my boy at home with me before the next chapter in his childhood began. But I feel ready to have some routine again, to know where I’m at and to be able to structure my work and home balance better. I’ve always loved the start of a new school year, there is so much promise in a fresh exercise book and new school shoes, and I find the shifting of seasons from Summer to Autumn to be the loveliest time of the year – undoubtedly because of the lower, golden light.
